Joondalup Early Learning Centre, located on the beautiful grounds of ECU Joondalup, is seeking a cook for its early learning centre. The successful applicant will prepare nutritious snacks and meals for young children from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., 5 days per week, Monday through Friday. If you love to cook for your family and friends, this role could be perfect for you!

Responsibilities of the Cook Role Include:

- Ordering groceries
- Cooking and planning snacks and meals for all children, including those with allergies and other dietary requirements
- Reviewing menus in consultation with the team from time to time
- Maintaining a food safety program and records (we can teach you all about it if you aren't familiar with this)

The Successful Candidate Will:

- Have experience in a home or commercial kitchen
- Understand food safety standards and our food safety plan or be willing to learn
- Be willing to be the Food Safety Supervisor
- Understand nutritional requirements for young children or have a willingness to learn
- Appreciate dietary and cultural requirements
- Undertake record keeping
- Conduct menu planning (with assistance and in consultation with others, from time to time)
- Conduct food preparation
- Maintain a clean, safe, and hygienic work area
- Enjoy cooking and presenting food

It is essential that the successful applicant has good written and verbal skills, is passionate about providing healthy snacks and meals for young children, has a friendly approach and positive attitude towards children, and has experience in a home or commercial kitchen. It is important our new cook can work autonomously, as well as within a team environment, is proactive, uses initiative, and understands the importance of good team culture.
