About the role

As the Senior Data Analyst, you are integral to the success of V/Line’s Operations –Service Delivery Group.

You will play an integral part to streamlining the planned disruptions approach across the State through data-driven approaches to support efficient and effective planning of projects in development and delivery phases

Key accountabilities include:

Data Support for Planning: Utilise centralised data sources and state guidelines to support project planning during development and delivery phases.

Strategic Influence: Play a pivotal role in shaping the strategic direction of planned disruption management.

Data Insights Translation: Convert data insights into effective and efficient options and outcomes, both commercially and in terms of service delivery standards.

Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with stakeholders to understand data requirements, deliver solutions, and foster a knowledge-sharing culture within the team.

Technical Data Analysis: Conduct technical data analysis to identify behaviours and leverage data-driven insights for strategic planning.

Proactive Risk Management: Champion a data-led approach for problem identification and solution development to ensure proactive risk management.

Guidance and Support: Provide guidance for baseline data use in pre-TOC and TOC phases to enhance the quality of TOC submissions.

Best Practices Sharing: Share best practices, lessons learned, and update business architecture definitions based on changing technologies and processes.

Peer Review and Mentorship: Participate in peer review sessions, challenge others respectfully, and advise on issue resolution. Coach, mentor, and develop employees’ skills for continuous improvement.

About You

You will be able to demonstrate a commitment to innovation, teamwork, continuous improvement and customer focus.

Our ideal candidate will possess the following:

Advanced understanding of data and demonstrated ability to analyse and communicate findings to drive positive strategic and commercial outcomes

Highly proficient in MS Excel, Power BI is a must

Experience in geospatial data mapping preferred

Competence in managing, analysing, and maintaining spatial data, including knowledge of spatial databases, data quality assurance, and metadata standards.

Experience working on legacy and modern technology stacks to fulfill business requirements.

Knowledge of rail infrastructure, signalling and control systems desirable

Highly proficient in the presentation of data, with the ability to visualise information to convey compelling and persuasive solution
