The Team:

The Mersey Community Hospital Medical Ward is a 33-bed ward. Nurses will have the opportunity to use their skills in palliative care, geriatric medicine, acute medicine and psychogeriatric medicine. You will be joining a wonderful team of nurses and support staff who pride themselves on providing the best possible care to patients.

The Role:

An Associate Nurse Unit Manager on the medical ward is a senior leadership position. You will be responsible for the coordination of patient flow, staffing and support on a shift-by-shift basis. You will also learn and undertake management tasks to assist the Nurse Unit Manager such as rostering, quality and safety, incident investigation, performance management, staffing and recruitment. ANUMs are also clinical leaders and will support, supervise and educate staff on the ward. It is expected that ANUMs are role models and set and maintain a professional standard that aligns with the organisations values. Development and self-education will be available for you to access and is highly encouraged.

Details of appointment:

Multiple Fixed term full time and part time, shift worker (rotational) position, working up to 76 hours per fortnight, commencing from a mutually agreed date until 18 October 2025.

*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.

Salary: $106,570 to $112,440 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

  • Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023.

In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:

  • Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10 % based on qualification type

Salary Packaging:

You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.
