The Opportunity

This position will provide high quality support services for people aged over 60 years and people of any age with a disability, through the delivery and promotion of the Home Assist Secure (HAS) program. Additionally, the successful candidate will assist the Home Maintenance Supervisor administer the operations of the HAS program in accordance with specifications and legislation.

Position Remuneration: Building Worker 2 + Construction Workers Allowance (CWA) ($41.57 inclusive of 25% casual loading). The salary will be based on the age of the successful applicant.

About You

To undertake this position, you will have sound home maintenance skills and ability in the use and maintenance of a wide range of hand tools, power tools and the relevant safety equipment.

Furthermore, you will have high level of interpersonal and communication skills including the ability to liaise with the frail aged and people with a disability.

The position's focus will be:

Assist the Home Maintenance Supervisor with the provision of HAS services ensuring work practices are consistent with HAS program specifications set by the Departments of Housing, Communities and Health.

Assist with client interviews and assessments in accordance with Wellness and Reablement practices and standards as required by Noosa Seniors funding bodies.

Assist the Home Maintenance Supervisor to engage, liaise with and monitor contractors to ensure delivery of high-quality services and standards.

Develop and maintain an effective working relationship with other HAS staff, volunteers and representatives from Department of Housing.

Carry out home modifications to assist seniors to rehabilitate and stay in their homes safer for longer.

Undertake minor maintenance work in client’s homes as part of the direct provision of project services.

Promote the service within the local community and within the networks of aged and people with disabilities.

Undertake training in wellness & reablement, dementia awareness, mental health awareness and professional boundaries as required.

Work as part of the team to assist in the delivery of Noosa Seniors operations.

Such other relevant duties as required from time to time which would generally fall within the scope of this position.
