The Role
The acquisition of conventionally-armed, nuclear-powered submarines is an historic and transformative endeavour for Australia. The whole-of-nation effort to safely and securely deliver the cutting edge nuclear-powered submarine program will transform Australia’s economic and national security landscape for decades to come.
Key Duties of the APS 6 Media and Communications Officer include the following:
- Support the delivery, development and coordination of a range of external communication, social media and media products, events and activities. Liaise effectively with media outlets to ensure information requirements are understood.
- Produce and support the development of communication products such as social media posts, media releases, speeches, talking points and other communications materials to support Australian Submarine Agency outcomes.
- Support communications for internal audiences to achieve agreed business outcomes.
- Identify risks and opportunities within the business environment and take account of these in planning, decision making and priority setting.
- Build and sustain effective relationships with stakeholders to deliver agreed business outcomes.
- Work collaboratively and negotiate effectively with stakeholders and subject matter experts to deliver agreed business outcomes.
- Employ understanding of the strategic environment and priorities within the Australian Submarine Agency to deliver communication and media products and activities.
- Interpret and comply with legislative, policy and regulatory frameworks.
