About the role

Psychological Health Service (PHS) is responsible for clinical assessment and intervention to prisoners at acute risk or suicide or self-harm; at chronic risk of suicide or self-harm or otherwise vulnerable within the prison system; with mental health issues; or having difficulties coping, adjusting to prison, or in transition to release. PHS staff participate in multidisciplinary risk management and clinical case management teams.

The Psychological Health Service Manager is responsible for managing a team of Clinical Supervisors and Prison Counsellors who provide clinical assessment and intervention services in response to the psychological health needs of prisoners, and Occupational Therapists in specialist units.
