YP SPACE MNC (YPS) is seeking an experienced Youth Caseworker to join our Specialist Homelessness Services (SHS) Team in Kempsey, with start date in May 2025. You MUST have experience in case management and a Diploma in Community Services as a minimum requirement. A strong understanding of the homelessness sector and committed to the safety and wellbeing of Children & Young People, then we want to hear from you.

Duties & Key Responsibilities:

Provide professional support and services to Children and Young People:

Deliver Trauma informed & results-focused care to all Children and Young People.

Advocate for better outcomes for Children and Young People & the local community.

Deal with immediate crisis.

Improve the health and wellbeing of Children and Young People.

Conduct assessments and make recommendations regarding referrals for 24/7 crisis accommodation services.

Actively participate in handovers, team meetings, planning sessions, and other activities or events as required.

Accurately maintain CIMS and other records as required.

Ensure comprehensive staff handovers occur regarding Children and Young People in Crisis accommodation.

Build and nurture positive relationships and partnerships with families, community, local services and other external stakeholders.

Model best-practice workplace behaviour and culture to others.

Uphold and promote the values of YPS.

Essential Selection Criteria:

Minimum Diploma qualification in Youth Work, Social Sciences, Community Services, Social Work or similar.

Experience and understanding of Children and Young People who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.

Experience providing casework and/or case management to Children and Young People or their families.

Demonstrated experience working with Children and Young People with substance misuse, mental health and disability.

Current full drivers licence for NSW.

Current NSW Working With Children’s Check (WWCC).

Current NSW Police – National Police Check.

Valid first aid certificate for the last 3 years with CPR in the last 12 months.
