Project Engineer – NSW Government

• Location: Orange
• Pay Rate: $87.50 - $100 per hour + Super
• Hours: Monday – Friday, 35 hours per week
• Assignment Length: Anticipated until 30th June 2025 with potential to extend

Key Accountabilities:

• Manage project & delivery process to ensure nominated infrastructure & maintenance projects are developed & delivered to agreed time, cost, quality & scope requirements
• Develop project briefs & cost estimates, procuring and overseeing service providers
• Prepare contract documents for bridge & road works projects
• Implement effective cost-management systems to ensure efficient financial management of projects

Essential Criteria:

• Tertiary qualification/s in Civil, Electrical or Engineering
• Current & valid Australian driver’s license, with flexibility to travel and work outside normal hours as required
• Strong technical knowledge of materials, equipment, and construction techniques used in roads, bridges, and traffic infrastructure projects
• Proven experience preparing accurate cost estimates, project delivery briefs, WHS, quality, environmental, and traffic management plans
• Demonstrated ability to manage and lead a direct control workforce to deliver construction and maintenance projects safely, efficiently, and to a high standard
• Sound understanding of tendering processes and contract management
• Confidence using project management and information systems, with experience in relevant software and digital tools
