About the Role
We are seeking experienced and passionate Support Specialists with expertise in complex behaviour support and mental health to join our team on a casual basis. In this dynamic and rewarding role, you'll play a key part in improving the quality of life for our participants through consistent, trauma-informed, and therapeutic approaches.
Key Responsibilities
- Empower participants to make choices and express independence
- Implement and document Behaviour Support Plans (BSP) in collaboration with Positive Behaviour Support Practitioners
- Identify, manage, and report restrictive practices, risks, and incidents
- Use your mental health training to support participants in their recovery journey
- Create a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment
- Assist with personal care, medication, transport, and daily living tasks
- Promote participants’ interests, relationships, and community access
- Maintain accurate documentation, including incident reports and progress notes
- Maintain participant privacy, dignity, and confidentiality at all times
- Handle administrative and compliance tasks with professionalism
About You
- Minimum 2 years of experience in disability support, specifically with complex behaviours
- Demonstrated experience in implementing Behaviour Support Plans
- Strong knowledge of NDIS requirements and safeguarding practices
- Compassionate, proactive, and confident in challenging environments
- High-level interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team
Mandatory Requirements
- Current NDIS Worker Screening Check
- Current National Police Clearance
- First Aid and CPR Certification
- Manual Handling Certificate
- Current Australian Driver’s License
- Access to a reliable, insured vehicle (comprehensive cover required)
- Flexibility to work across a 24/7 roster including weekends and public holidays
- Basic computer literacy skills
