Based in the Department of General Practice and Primary Care, you will support the coordination and day-to-day activities of key networks: the Co-Design Living Labs Network, the Next-Generation Researcher Network, and the Implementation and Translation Network.

Working across several large-scale, NHMRC- and MRFF-funded studies, you will help engage members, coordinate communications, support national meetings, and track follow-up action - particularly within the Co- Design Living Labs Network. This is a dynamic opportunity to contribute to meaningful mental health research and national collaboration.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Work with the Senior Research Fellow who is responsible for the oversight of the day- to-day operations of three Networks, supporting engagement and activities with members.
  • Support Network meetings by sending invitations, preparing agendas, minuting and documenting actions for key staff to take forward and Support meetings and processes for development of Network Quick Guides.
  • Administer callouts for project co-design as required, which may include processing responses to calls-outs and organising reimbursements for codesign and co-lead meeting participants.
  • Work with the Research Fellow (Statistics) on database management for all networks, including adding new member information and documenting attendance at events and meetings.
  • Support report preparation on membership and activities across all three networks to senior research staff and leads as requested.
  • Regularly check-in with co-leads of each Network. Monitor network email inboxes and communications. Be the point of contact for Network enquiries.

Your new team – the ALIVE National Centre
The ALIVE National Centre for Mental Health Research Translation is funded under the National Health and Medical Research Council’s (NHMRC) Special Initiative in Mental Health. Three networks operationalise the objectives of the ALIVE National Centre for Mental Health Research Translation: the Co-Design Living Labs Network, the Implementation and Translation Network, and the Next Generation Researcher Network (incorporating the Lived-Experience Research Collective).

The University of Melbourne Primary Care Mental Health research group established the Co- Design Living Labs program in 2017, and there are currently upward of 1900 members in the program and national network (referred to as co-designers) across Australia. The program is scaling across 17 university partners in the National Centre to support co-design of new models of care, service design, and implementation and translation efforts across Australian research institutions, with a particular focus on transforming mental health care and systems. The program brings people with Lived-Experience of mental ill-health, ongoing distress and people who care as unpaid carers, family and/or kinship group members together with researchers, industry, and other agencies (as appropriate), for co-design.
