About us:

Community Correctional Services (CCS) contributes to the safety of the community by applying practices that reduce reoffending and connect individuals to programs, services and community. CCS provides management of individuals on court orders, people who have committed serious sex offences on post sentence supervision and prisoners on parole.

Community Work and Partnerships is one of four service delivery streams within CCS. We are responsible for the development of mutually beneficial partnerships with government agencies and non-government organisations so that offenders can undertake unpaid work as part of their community based sentence imposed by the Courts of Victoria.

About your new role:

Reporting to the Regional General Manager, the Manager leads a team of office and field-based staff and strives to deliver community work placement opportunities ensuring that individualised placements are enhanced and educational opportunities for individuals are maximized.

  • Manages the Community Work and Partnerships stream for the West Area and is accountable for all aspects of the management of staff, management of budget, allocation of resourcing and work planning as well as the occupational health and safety requirements associated with community work sites.
  • Proactively maintain existing relations and target, engage and develop new and innovative business opportunities within the community
  • Devise community placed-based community for work programs which maximise achievement of required community work hours for individuals and increase the completion of court orders

This role covers the West Area which is comprised of the Barwon South West and Grampians Regions. You will be required to work across a wide range of justice services operating across central locations in Geelong, Warrnambool, Ballarat and Horsham as well as a number of satellite location. Your primary work location may be Geelong or Ballarat however you are required to travel across all.

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Demonstrated ability to engage with local community services and effectively market and develop partnership strategies.
  • Demonstrated understanding and capability in supervising a team responsible for operational service delivery.
  • Demonstrated people, resource and change management experience.
  • Exceptional communication skills and drive for service excellence.
