ABOUT THE ROLE
Responsible for the management of the nursing and midwifery management of patients being transported by the Air Ambulance, between country and metropolitan Local Health Networks within New South Wales and interstate. This position supports the Senior Flight Nurse. Responsibilities include coordination of patient services and liaison with health care disciplines for the provision of services. This includes the implementation of health service policy, dissemination of information to all personnel, monitoring of supplies and equipment. Responsibilities also include the management and supervision of nursing activities including rosters, scheduling of staff to attend training, appraisals and the development of current and future nursing practises in conjunction with Senior Flight Nurse and the Flight Nurse Educator.

ABOUT YOU
- You must have a current authority to practice as a Registered Nurse & Midwife with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
- You must possess recent critical care and management experience and have a commitment to quality improvement, practice development and evidence-based practice
- You must possess a recent leadership course / management course or proven leadership qualities
- You must possess well developed interpersonal skills, communication and problems solving skill
- Demonstrate the ability to lead and manage complex clinical case and scenarios with a clear understanding of NSW Ambulance escalation procedures
- Ability to work a sole nurse/midwife and manage complex operational issue
- Demonstrate professional integrity; ethical conduct, accountability, advocacy, enabling others
- Cultivation of collaborative relationships and effective teamwork
- Manage after hours on call responsibilities, including management of complex tasking, leave matter and operational or staff logistic concerns
