Gippsland Regional Organics

Our regional organics facility is about 30kms east of Sale and is an Environment Protection Authority (EPA) licensed business which uses a range of advanced technologies to process organic wastes into reusable compost products. These products are then used in our Agribusiness activities and throughout the wider Gippsland region. The great thing is, these processes help to divert waste from landfills, in turn reducing the impact on the environment.

The role

In this role, you’ll be working as part of a team that turns many different forms of waste from various industries across the region and our own treatment facilities into compost. You’ll assist with the day-to-day operation of the Gippsland Regional Organics, which includes the use of heavy machinery and equipment as directed by the operations coordinator or senior operators.

You’ll be operating at times, in biohazardous and odorous conditions which makes the work we do regulated. The compost we produce also needs to meet certain standards and you’ll play a key role in achieving compliance and ensuring work is carried out safely at all times.

What you’ll bring

Commitment to working safely in a workplace that has a range of hazards

Desire and ability to work unsupervised and as part of a team

Experience and / or a desire to operate mobile plant

Good communication skills to liaise with others, including members of the public

It is essential that you hold a current and valid driver’s licence

If you haven’t worked in the organics recycling industry before but have an interest in working in this field, that’s fine by us, as we will give the right person the support to get there.

Freedom

We offer a variety of flexible arrangements to suit our employees’ varied needs. We understand that Gippsland Water and our customers benefit from enabling our employees to achieve balance in work and life.
