The Firm and the Team

Our Client is a globally recognised law firm looking to hire a junior to mid-level accountant to join their Sydney-based office on a full-time basis. Supervised by the Finance Manager, the ideal candidate will gain hands-on experience in AR practices in a law or professional services firm.

The Duties:

• Conduct monthly Partner meetings to review Debtors reports, agree on action points, and update the Financial Controller and Global Credit Head.
• Manage client communication for overdue debts (calls, emails, letters), resolve queries promptly, and escalate issues as needed (300+ clients, ~1,000 invoices).
• Maintain accurate records in ARCS and debt logs, track agreements, and ensure diary system compliance.
• Update client data, handle onboarding/tax documentation, and liaise with teams to ensure accurate contact details.
• Perform administrative tasks (filing, ad-hoc duties) and collaborate globally to resolve international debts.

About you:

A successful candidate will have 2+ experience in the legal or professional services industry with:

• Experience with accounting software, e.g. Aderant
• Knowledge of core accounting principles
• Excellent customer service skills
• Demonstrated time management skills
• Knowledge of basic Excel functions
