Due to continued growth, they are now seeking a Financial Accountant to join their Brisbane-based head office team.

The Role

Reporting to the Finance Manager, the Financial Accountant will play a key role in supporting financial operations across multiple entities. This hands-on position blends financial reporting, budgeting, audit support, and payroll with a focus on process improvement and stakeholder engagement. Your responsibilities will include, but won’t be limited to:

• Preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements, including variance analysis and commentary.
• Review and processing of journals, reconciliations, and monthly transactions across various funds and cost centres.
• Assist with annual budget preparation and liaise with auditors to support timely and accurate financial audits.
• Complete fortnightly payroll for the head entity and support lodgement of superannuation, PAYG, and payroll tax.
• Prepare and lodge BAS/IAS and oversee settlement adjustments and fixed asset register.
• Provide financial insights and respond to internal and external stakeholder queries.
• Support the Finance Manager in driving continuous improvement initiatives across finance systems and processes.

Skills & Experience

• Tertiary qualification in Accounting or Finance.
• CPA or CA qualified (or working toward).
• Experience in financial accounting, end-of-month reporting, and audit support.
• Strong working knowledge of GST and general compliance obligations.
• Proficient in Excel; MYOB experience highly regarded.
• High attention to detail, strong organisational skills, and excellent judgement.
• Comfortable working autonomously while contributing effectively within a team.
• Strong communication skills and ability to manage stakeholder relationships.
