About the role

Care Capital Services is seeking a passionate and dedicated Disability Support Worker to join our team in Canberra. As a casual Disability Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing compassionate care to teens and adults with mild to moderate intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Duties and responsibilities

Assisting clients with daily living activities such as personal care, meal preparation, and community participation

Engaging clients in meaningful activities and outings to promote their social inclusion and wellbeing

Collaborating with allied health professionals and other caregivers to ensure a coordinated approach to client support

Maintaining accurate records and documentation to monitor client progress and inform care plans

Adhering to all relevant policies, procedures, and safety standards to provide safe and high-quality care

What we're looking for

Previous experience working as a Disability Support Worker or in a similar role, preferably in a community-based setting

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and work effectively with clients, their families, and team members

Compassion, patience, and a genuine desire to make a positive difference in the lives of people with disabilities

Ability to work independently, as well as collaboratively within a team, to coordinate client care

National Police Check, Working With Vulnerable People and First Aid certificate

A current driver's licence and access to a reliable vehicle with comprehensive insurance

Highly Desired:

A Certificate III or IV in Individual Support or an equivalent qualification in the disability or aged care sector

Flexible availability to cover a range of shifts (including overnight and weekends)
