The Machine Operator / Truck Driver is responsible for operating a variety of heavy
machinery and performing related construction activities to support the delivery of civil,
excavation, demolition, and general building projects. This role includes truck driving duties
and assisting with general labour tasks when machinery work is not required, ensuring full-
time engagement across all active sites.
Working hours are between 7:00am and 5:00pm, Monday to Friday, with flexibility based
on project needs. Saturday work may be required. Employment is full-time, and duties may
span across multiple sites within the Sydney metropolitan area and surrounding regions.

Key Responsibilities
Machinery Operation
Operate a range of plant and equipment including:
o Excavators (1.5 to 30 tonnes)
o Bobcats / Skid Steer Loaders
o 5 Tonne Telehandlers
o Forklifts
Perform detailed excavation work including:
o Footing excavation
o Basement excavation
o Pad and pier preparation
o Retaining wall and detailed setouts
Carry out bulk earthworks and pad preparations
Maintain daily pre-start checks and safe operation of all machinery
Conduct demolition work where required (non-structural or licensed structural
demolition)
Civil Works and Plan Interpretation
Read and interpret detailed civil and architectural plans
Carry out civil works including:
o Stormwater trenching
o Service trenching and setouts
o Council crossover preparation
o Road interface works
o Driveway and pavement preparation
Work with surveyors and engineers to ensure accuracy of cut/fill and finished levels
Truck Driving
Drive company trucks for material delivery and spoil removal
Transport machinery between sites as required
Maintain vehicle cleanliness, safety, and compliance
Hold at minimum a MR (Medium Rigid) Licence – HR (Heavy Rigid) Licence
preferred
General Site Support
Assist with labouring and site support when machine or truck operation is not
required
Perform site clean-up, deliveries, and general construction assistance
Work under direction of the Site Supervisor or Project Manager to meet daily goals
Uphold workplace safety and assist in enforcing safety compliance on-site
