Are you a senior engineer who thrives in autonomy, loves solving complex problems, and wants your work to shape real products used globally?

You can join this $100m a year, product-led company building tools used by millions of designers and small business owners globally.

Most of the problems they’re solving haven’t been solved before and so this isn’t a case of been-there-done-that, it’s more what tactics and tools can we use to solve this. You’re coming on board as an engineer, not as a software developer.

Right now, they’re looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join one of their core teams working at the heart of their platform. This role leans backend (Node.js, Postgres, AWS) but will appeal to curious full-stack engineers who enjoy investigating, experimenting, and solving across a range of domains.

What You’ll Work On

You’ll dive into meaningful projects with broad impact, including:

• Scaling multilingual support across tools and platforms
• Evolving their AI-powered design experiences
• Enhancing mobile UI/UX and video animation tools
• Tackling deep technical challenges that make their design products faster, smarter, and more intuitive

This isn’t a feature factory. You’ll ship things that matter, and you’ll own your work.

About You

You're probably the kind of engineer who:

• Has led or owned backend-heavy projects, ideally across a few different domains
• Thinks holistically about systems but can dive deep into code when needed
• Picks up new technologies quickly and isn’t afraid to build outside your comfort zone - Tech stack for this team is Node.js, Vue.js, AWS but you’ll be agnostic and may be able to work on tech used by other teams too.
• Prefers working independently and figuring things out rather than waiting for instructions
• Has strong opinions loosely held, and values clean, maintainable code

They care more about how you think than which languages you’ve used but experience with the JavaScript / TypeScript stack will be useful to hit-the-ground-running. If you’ve worked on distributed systems or AI-driven services, that would be a bonus.

It’s a mature environment and you can work flexibly. They have an office in Surry Hills and some people go in most days but as long as you’re in for the social events and you’re getting the work done, they trust you to work how works best. Having said that, you’ll need to be based in Sydney or nearby to be able to travel in for collab sessions.
