The Opportunity

Bethel Christian School is seeking a passionate and dedicated Education Assistant to join our team in Term 2, 2025. Our Education Assistants work alongside classroom teachers to support successful teaching and student learning practices.

The successful applicant will:

work in the classroom and other teaching/learning areas with individual students or small groups of students under the supervision of a teacher.

have experience of a range of strategies to support the learning of students experiencing learning difficulties and social emotional needs.

work in a team with the classroom teacher, learning support teachers and pastoral care team.

be flexible and willing to work collaboratively.

be able to accept direction and work under limited supervision.

be confident in the use of common MS Office software applications.

be highly organised, have strong interpersonal, communication and literacy skills.

be dedicated to creating a safe and supportive learning environment where every student can thrive.

Essential requirements for the role

Minimum of Certificate III in Education Support.

Desirable - certificate IV in Education Support.

Desirable - Experience or willingness to work with students who have complex learning profiles.

Working With Children Card.

Current First Aid certificate, including CPR and Epi-Pen, (or willing to obtain).

Previous primary year classroom experience preferred.

Create a safe, inclusive environment and knowledge of child protection principles.

To have a personal faith and commitment to the Lord Jesus Christ and active involvement in a Church or Christian Community.

To accept the BCS Statement of Faith.

Build co-operative and supportive relationships with the school leadership, staff, students and parents.

Work to ensure personal best practice.

Model the use of appropriate and proper channels of communication.

Always act in the best interest of the school and its ethos.

Adhering to all policies and procedures outlined by BCS.
