Your role at St John of God Health Care
We are seeking a strategic leader to oversee our contract compliance, risk management, and process optimisation. In this pivotal role, you will ensure the quality and performance of major third-party service contracts, both current and future.

Working closely with operational leads, you will drive the implementation of robust, end-to-end contract frameworks that align with best practice standards. Be part of a team that values accountability, quality, and innovation in contract governance.

The Position

  • Design, Develop and implement a scalable 'best practice' contract governance function for use across the organisation that is compliant with existing SJGHC risk and governance frameworks.
  • Oversee the development of policy and procedure that details SJGHC's contract management function.
  • Provide direction to the Contract Governance Lead in monitoring SJGHC's compliance with contract policies.
  • Directly manage this governance function for third party major Clinical service contracts.
  • Develop, recommend and implement continual improvement protocols to ensure improvements to SJGHC governance standards are incorporated into the clinical contract management function where required.
  • Provide support and guidance to Hospital contract owners and end-users to enable them to administer contracts effectively and within proper governance frameworks.
  • Oversee a centralised service that carries out contract management and administration tasks for hospital-based Contract Owners of Facility Management Service Contracts.
  • Assist Group Procurement and hospitals to develop and carry out tenders including, where necessary, advising on requests for tenders' documents.
  • Conduct contract strategy meetings with key internal stakeholders to identify issues and Hospital requirements and obtain internal input on timelines and deliverables.
  • Identify gaps within existing contract management practices and within Service Level Agreements for existing contracts and implement processes with key internal stakeholders to close identified gaps and improve service delivery.
  • Develop and establish an end-to-end and scalable contract performance management framework that meets the needs of key internal stakeholders and encompasses best practices in contract and risk management.
  • Develop and implement continual improvement protocols to ensure that the contract management function evolves in line with best practice parameters.
  • Develop a reporting regime appropriate for each specific contract to meet the needs of prescribed stakeholders, including a continual improvement process addressing feedback from key stakeholders.
  • Manage the reporting regime for third party major, service contracts.

You will have a strong background or demonstrated experience in understanding contract law concepts and the operation of service-related contracts, ensuring compliance and effective management. You will also bring expertise in key clinical concepts and operational requirements, with a clear understanding of the nuances that drive clinical practices and service delivery.

Your excellent interpersonal, communication, and writing skills will enable you to engage effectively with stakeholders, while your ability to manage and motivate a small team of contract administrators will ensure the smooth execution and success of contractual obligations.

To succeed in this role, you will need the capacity to present confidently to key stakeholders and represent SJGHC effectively in contract negotiations, ensuring the organisation's interests are well communicated and protected. You will demonstrate strong conceptual and analytical skills, with the ability to identify trends and issues, and make informed recommendations that drive positive outcomes.

Your proven organisational skills, combined with a sound approach to adapting to rapidly changing business environments, will ensure you can thrive in a dynamic and evolving workplace. A qualification in law, business administration or healthcare administration is desirable.
