The Role
The RAP Manager will take a lead role in developing and implementing the SCC Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP). The role is crucial in advancing our commitment to reconciliation and will coordinate the development and implementation of a range of diversity, equity and inclusion strategies and programs for SCC in consultation with key external and internal stakeholders to build a culturally safe, diverse and inclusive workforce. This position will require a forward-thinker who can liaise with stakeholders, manage projects, develop high-level communications (internal and external) for the organisation and highlight the contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander staff, and clients. The RAP Manager will be responsible for helping to build and promote an inclusive working environment that is culturally safe. The role will have a continuous improvement responsibility to support SCC to embed reconciliation practices.
Key Accountabilities
Develop and implement the Reconciliation Action Plan in alignment with Reconciliation Australia's framework, assisting the RAP Working Group including coordinating action items
First Peoples cultural awareness and capability: assist in development of awareness training on history, rights, challenges and practices for First Peoples to support cultural and historical awareness within SCC
Engage with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities to build strong, respectful relationships in support of SCC reconciliation commitments and SCC initiatives
Event and Engagement Support: assist in planning and executing events and gathering insights for First Peoples cultural awareness initiatives
Policy review and enhancement: assist in the development, coordination, implementation and reporting on a range of RAP strategies for SCC in consultation with stakeholders, including continuous refinements to relevant policies that include specific commitments to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures
Requirements
Cultural Awareness: High level of understanding and awareness of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, cultures and issues, and demonstrated ability to engage key Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander stakeholders
Stakeholder Engagement: excellent stakeholder engagement and management
Project Management: excellent project management and administrative skills
Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to create engaging and impactful content
Team Collaboration: Ability to work effectively with executives and as part of a team, building positive relationships with stakeholders
Digital Proficiency: Familiarity with social media platforms, content management systems, and basic analytics tools
Time Management: Organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines to time
Flexibility: Ability to adapt to change, to work flexibly (3 days in the office, 2 days remotely) and manage work independently.
