POSITION PROFILE
The WA Virtual Emergency Department (WAVED) are seeking experienced Specialists in Emergency Medicine with recent or current paediatric experience to support a new paediatric sub-service of WAVED (WAVEDKids). You will provide comprehensive clinical management of emergency medicine patients presenting to the WAVED with an Emergency Medicine assessment, advice and management via video consultation,
To be successful applicant(s) to this recruitment pool, you must have current:
- Registration as a Specialist in Emergency Medicine (FACEM) or General Medicine in the specialty field of Paediatric Emergency Medicine (FRACP).
- Experience in Paediatric Emergency Medicine.
ABOUT THE WA VIRTUAL EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT
The WA Virtual Emergency Department (WAVED) is an initiative managed by the State Health Operations Centre (SHOC) in 2023, providing opportunity to give patients the option of being seen virtually in the comfort of their own home when safe and appropriate to do so, rather than waiting in an emergency department (ED). The overarching aim of WAVED is to improve access to care and provide treatment options that achieve equally good or better patient outcomes without the need to physically visit and Emergency Department. WAVED partners with multiple other agencies to help deliver the care the patient requires.
