About Us: Carbon Asset Solutions is a pioneering soil-based data and climate technology utilising advanced Mobile Inelastic Neutron Scattering (MINS) technology to precisely measure soil mineral composition and carbon content. Our innovative approach enables unprecedented accuracy in quantifying soil health and carbon stocks, understanding soil dynamics for carbon credit verification, agricultural and mining optimisation.
Role Overview: We're seeking an Environmental Engineer with expertise in organic waste processing and soil amendment formulation to enhance our MINS-based soil health and carbon measurement capabilities. In this role, you'll bridge the gap between organic waste transformation and soil carbon quantification, helping to optimise how MINS technology measures carbon sequestration outcomes from various soil amendments.
Additionally, you will liaise with regulators, contractors and other internal and external stakeholders to ensure CAS projects meet environmental requirements and objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
Design experimental protocols that use MINS technology to measure carbon changes from different compost and organic amendment applications
Develop specialised soil amendment for detection and verification using MINS technology
Correlate compost quality parameters with MINS-detected mineral and carbon profiles in treated soils
Analyse how various catalytic processes in composting affect long-term soil carbon stability as measured by MINS
Analyse how composted organic waste can modify soil properties to improve both mineral accessibility and environmental outcomes
Develop sustainable mining rehabilitation strategies using organic amendments validated through MINS technology
Managing and supervising the project site and feasibility evaluating and environmental justification of the project that will lead to the acceptance or rejection of the project.
Collaborate with our technical team to refine MINS measurement protocols for different soil amendment scenarios
Required Qualifications:
Advanced degree in Environmental Engineering, or related field
Demonstrated expertise in organic waste processing and soil amendment formulation
Understanding of soil mineral composition and carbon-mineral interactions
Experience with analytical instrumentation and soil characterisation methodologies
Strong background in experimental design and statistical analysis
Excellence in technical reporting and data interpretation
Proven cross-cultural competency to work within our cross-cultural team and with our international scaling.
Preferred Experience:
Familiarity with neutron scattering or other advanced soil analysis techniques
Knowledge of how organic amendments affect soil mineral structures and stability
Experience in developing protocols for novel measurement technologies
Background in scaling laboratory findings to field applications
