Compliance Management Group Operations:

The Operations team plays a critical role in supporting the Compliance Management Group (CMG) by delivering workforce capability and capacity initiatives, managing workload and workflows, and providing essential information management and technology support.

Additionally, the Operations team coordinates all recruitment and training activities within the group. It is also responsible for overseeing the development and maintenance of policies, procedures, templates, and assurance activities, ensuring CMG's continuous improvement and the implementation of strategies to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of compliance activities.

About the Role:

Reporting to the Assistant Director, the Senior Operations Officer plays an important role in supporting workforce and capability functions for CMG, including recruitment, retention, training and planning. The primary function of the role includes, analysing complex data to improve processes, enhance staff skills, ensuring compliance with legislation, developing recruitment strategies, oversee workforce initiatives and improving recruitment frameworks.

The Senior Operations Officer assists the Assistant Director in overseeing training needs and procuring programs, managing communication materials, induction processes and drafting other relevant documents to support workforce and capability across CMG.

Position Duties:

Facilitate and support the development, execution, and oversight of workforce-related functions, including recruitment, retention strategies, and position ownership, while managing staff data for accurate and effective workforce planning.

  • Under general direction, analyse, interpret and validate complex qualitative and quantitative information from a range of sources to enhance processes that support the development of staff data, skills and workforce capability.
  • Apply an in-depth knowledge of relevant legislation, whilst operating with considerable independence to develop, enhance and maintain CMG documents and processes, aligning them with regulatory and policy frameworks to achieve group objectives.
  • Oversee operational governance projects to identify and address staff capability, develop training needs and capability gap assessments to anticipate future skill requirements and implement suitable solutions.
  • Develop and manage communication materials, while maintaining intranet and SharePoint pages to provide timely, accurate and current information for the wider group.
  • Apply a thorough understanding of the operational environment and use technical and specialised knowledge to enhance processes and achieve group objectives by creating and maintaining induction materials, drafting position descriptions, facilitating employee induction and separation, and improving the recruitment framework and executive action plan.
  • Work with a high level of autonomy and accountability in managing priorities and provide expert technical and strategic guidance to staff.
  • Utilise strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills to influence and achieve desired outcomes, while working collaboratively with stakeholders on complex issues to deliver individual and team outcomes.
  • Work collaboratively as part of the team to apply a coordinated working approach to deliver individual and team outcomes including knowledge sharing, coaching and mentoring staff to build individual and team capability.
  • Oversee workforce planning and initiatives, drive continuous improvement projects and support the Assistant Director in identifying learning needs across the group, mapping professional development activities, and coordinating with stakeholders to identify workforce skills.

Position Eligibility Requirements (Selection Criteria):

To be successful in this role you will need to demonstrate the following:

  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a high-performing, geographically dispersed team to achieve key deliverables, build team and group capability, and provide education, coaching, and mentoring to staff.
  • Ability to work autonomously, exercise sound judgement, analytical and problem-solving skills to develop and maintain documents, communications and staffing data.
  • Ability to interpret and apply relevant legislation and accurately create commission procedure and guidance documents to support the wider group in relation to workforce and capability.
  • Highly developed interpersonal, engagement, negotiation and consultation skills to establish and maintain professional relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading and implementing continuous improvement initiatives and being proactive by identify gaps to improve operational delivery and support broader organisational strategic priorities.
  • Well-developed communication skills and strong attention to detail with demonstrated ability to produce clear, accurate, and high-quality documents and communication material that support the groups objectives.
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgement, identify solutions to business problems and take initiative to deliver on the team’s operational objectives.
  • Experience writing and maintaining policy and procedural documents, drafting position descriptions, induction material, and other communication materials tailored for the group.

Position Notes:

Salary offered will be between $96,503 - $108,869 per annum depending on skills and experience. In addition, 15.4% superannuation will be paid.

Non-ongoing opportunity will be offered for an irregular/intermittent term. Opportunities will be offered for varying periods up to 12 months with the option to extend to a total of 24 months.
