We’re offering a unique opportunity in Moe / Traralgon for both experienced care workers and those looking to begin a meaningful career in youth work. Join our dedicated team and provide safe, stable support to adolescents in residential care – all while benefiting from our generous sleepover model and penalty rates.
About the Role
As a Residential Youth Worker on the sleepover line, you’ll work alongside a passionate team to support young people aged 12–17 who are on child protection orders. You’ll implement Care and Placement Plans, create safe routines, and foster positive relationships that help our young residents thrive.
This position operates under our High Support Residential Care model, which provides structured and therapeutic medium-to-long term accommodation. You’ll be based in one of 4 homes in the Moe and Traralgon areas, part of Junction’s growing presence in the region.
What’s in it for You?
🌙 Sleepover Allowance – $72.33 per night (above award!)
💸 Night Shift Loading – Earn 15% extra Monday to Friday
⏰ Overtime Pay – Time-and-a-half for first 2 hours if woken, then double time
📆 Weekend Penalty Rates – 50% extra Saturdays, 100% extra Sundays
🌴 Bonus Leave – Work 10+ weekends/year = 1 week’s extra annual leave!

Position Details
We currently have multiple positions on the sleepover line (permanent part-time):
Shifts run as follows:
Worked hours: 5:00pm – 11:00pm
Sleepover: 11:00pm – 7:00am
Worked hours: 7:00am – 9:00am
What You’ll Need
A minimum Certificate IV in Child, Youth & Family Intervention, Youth Work, Community Services, or related (see our Application Pack for full list)
A strong desire or proven experience working with young people
Unrestricted Australian driver’s licence
Employee Victorian Working with Children Check
First Aid Certificate
Willingness to undertake all required training
