Who are we?

A privately owned family business with a solid reputation in the scrap metal recycling industry. Our primary function is the collection and processing of scrap metal to supply both domestic and international industries that require end-of-life metals to produce new products.

What are we looking for?

We’re seeking a General Labourer / Yard Operator with a valid forklift ticket and experience. This role will also involve traffic control duties, so a Traffic Controller (TC) ticket is a big plus. No two days are the same in our fast-paced yard. You’ll need to be adaptable, alert, and ready to jump between tasks while always putting safety first.

A valid LF forklift ticket is a must. You must own a reliable car, as public transport options are limited in this area, and have a valid driver’s license. This role is one where we will teach and show you what is expected, and we want you to take ownership of it. The position requires standing for an extended period and performing repetitive tasks in a dusty or noisy environment. You must be fit and healthy, as the role involves physical work and navigating stairs.

What will the responsibilities be?

Operating forklifts to move materials around the yard

Directing and managing traffic flow on site (TC ticket highly regarded)

Loading/unloading bins and trucks

General labouring duties across the yard

Daily pre-start checks and maintenance of forklift

Assisting customers and drivers onsite with a friendly, helpful attitude

Maintaining a clean, safe, and organised work environment

What you will need:

Valid LF Forklift Licence with proven forklift experience

Manual labouring experience in a similar outdoor or industrial environment

Traffic Control ticket (desirable but not essential)

Driver’s licence and reliable transport

A safety-first mindset and ability to follow procedures

Strong communication skills – two-way radio use a must

A flexible attitude – ready to jump into different jobs during the day

Available for Monday–Friday (6am–4pm) and occasional Saturday work
