SCA is the peak body and member organisation for strata managers and suppliers to the strata industry. Our members specialise in the area of the management of common property in apartment and commercial buildings.
We are looking for an experienced person to join our team as Finance Manager. We are looking for someone who is experienced with the bookkeeping and accounting principles and can work independently.
It is essential for the role that you have end-to-end bookkeeping experience including payroll - experience limited to either just accounts payable and/or receivable is not sufficient for this role. Working within a membership organisation or experience with membership systems is also desirable.
This position requires someone who is highly organised, confident and has a great eye for detail.
Responsibilities include:
Maintain accurate financial records, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll through precise data entry.
Payroll & STP reporting, superannuation, payroll tax and ATO obligations & deadlines.
Manage and report on leave entitlements and balances
Strong understanding of bookkeeping and accounting principles.
Create invoices, payments, and receipts.
Reconcile bank statements, manage month-end processes, and prepare monthly financial reports.
Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis to support strategic decisions.
Work with external auditor for end of financial year reporting.
Prepare and organise work for ATO lodgements, compliance and end-of-financial-year reporting.
Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
Handle GST and BAS preparation and lodgement.
Process expense reimbursements.
Follow up overdue invoices.
Perform general administrative tasks as required.
Required Skills
A background in bookkeeping and accounting with relevant qualifications, a minimum of 5 years of bookkeeping/accounting experience.
Advanced experience with Xero and Microsoft Excel.
Experience working with professional service firms in accounts management and bookkeeping.
Experience in producing financial and management reports
High attention to detail and accuracy.
Strong financial acumen, analysis and budget management skills.
Ability to present complex data clearly and concisely.
Independent problem-solving skills will be highly regarded.
Analysing existing processes to identify areas for improvement and increased efficiency.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
A high level of IT literacy (particularly with Microsoft 365).
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Remuneration
A salary of between $80,000 and $90,000 plus superannuation is offered.
