Superstar Female Casual Disability Support Worker for Gold Coast Opportunity
QSSS Pty Ltd
Posted 6 days ago
Our prospective Disability Clients need multiple experienced all-rounder Support Workers to join us for our Onsite Shared Support opportunity at the brand new (still being finalised) Marine Quarter towers as Southport on the Gold Coast providing unplanned / infrequent supports to 10 Clients of varying disabilities. The On Site Support Service is 24/7, specifically designed to support NDIS Clients when their usual supports are not available. This unplanned support may be something as simple as assisting a Client with their meal to providing personal care or emergency support in the instance of a fall or other incident.
This is a super cool role where no two days will be the same; but even better, the tenants at Marine Quarter are such an awesome bunch of people who just need a day to day hand from dynamic, dedicated and proactive Support Workers to help them live their best life.
The ideal person suited to this role is an experienced Support Worker with experience with a range of Clients and disabilities. There is a high customer service / hospitality component to this role (think hotel concierge service – with a superstar Support Worker role focus) ensuring that the entirety of the tenant’s life (not just related to their disability) is the focus. This also requires a high degree of autonomy, problem solving, multitasking and the ability to prioritise multiple Client priorities.
We’re not going to lie, we are not after people with a “Not My Job” mindset; an “I’m too busy” mindset, an “I wonder what messages I’ve missed on my phone” mindset – we need people who are willing to go over and above to support those we are charged to support and serve. We need people who will proactively find out how they can help and not wait for a call for support. We need people who are easy going, personable and who have an excellent work ethic, but most of all, we need decent, caring and responsible humans.
… and the perks? No two days will be the same. You will be in a role where you can go home and know in your heart that you made a different to a person’s life. You will be welcomed to an organisation that has its values well and truly aligned, who treat their staff with respect and who are supported in the good, the bad and the uncertain – and you’ll earn a wage while doing it. We are truly a family minded service provider who want people with similar values and mindset.
So the nitty gritty.
We are after approximately two more Support Workers for this project.
A range of 8-hour shifts are available - (6am – 2pm / 2pm – 10pm / 10pm – 6am)
The hourly base rate is $ 34.45 /hr plus penalties for Evening, Nights, Weekends and Public Holiday Shifts (sorry, rate not negotiable).
You will have support in your role via a comprehensive care plan and ongoing training and support from our awesome Support Specialist team.
To be successful you must…
Be a decent, caring and compassionate human who wants to help our nations vulnerable
Be open minded to the person and not have the mindset that just because you have experience in a disability, doesn’t mean you have experience in that persons experience or expectations in relation to their disability
Have experience in the disability field
Resonate with the role description above
Not think that our valued Tenants are paying you to be on your personal phone – please stay off
Have a team mindset
Have awesome multitasking, prioritising skills with a proactive and problem solving mindset
Hold a NDIS Worker Screening Card and Working with Children Blue Card
Have evidence of eligibility and right to work in Australia
Have a genuine desire to positively change people's lives
Your key responsibilities & accountabilities…
To deliver high quality support to our Clients in the capacity they require, the exact way they would like it delivered
Communicate effectively and collaborate for our Clients needs with our Clients, team & Support Specialist
Understand, follow instructions, and be responsive to our Clients needs
Provide support to our Clients as required
To support our Clients to achieve their NDIS Goals
Have good rapport building skills and a gentle, encouraging manner
Have an interest in building a respectful relationship with our Clients
Be reliable, flexible and responsive to fill shifts when required
