What you’ll be doing:
As a Virtual Local Area Coordinator (VLAC) at Feros Care, based full time from our Tweed Heads office, you're the crucial link between the community and the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA). Your role involves guiding participants through the NDIS process, collecting information for their plans, and helping them understand how to use their funding effectively.
Your work will include:
Supporting people with a disability to develop a goal-based, individualised plan which supports their strengths, skills, and interests.
Guiding and assisting people with a disability to build capacity and explore options for self-direction, self-management, and self-advocacy.
Providing people with a disability and their families with information and support to access mainstream services and participate in the community.
Building and maintaining positive partnerships within the wider community to refer participants to a diverse range of service providers.
Develop strong community partnerships that support capacity building to make communities more accessible and inclusive.
Who we’re looking for:
Someone with great people skills, excellent written communication, and strong time management skills.
You will have experience in meeting and exceeding KPIs and outcomes.
Be adaptable and able to cope with an ever changing, fast paced environment where no two days are the same!
A person-centered approach when working with vulnerable people from diverse backgrounds focused on empowering individuals to exercise choice and control, delivering positive outcomes, maintaining confidentiality, and upholding professional integrity.
Relevant qualifications in disability, allied health, community services, or minimum 2 years’ experience working with people living with disability or lived experience with disability or caring for someone with disability.
What we can do for you:
Salary banding from $80,861 - $86, 849 depending on relevant qualifications and years of relevant experience.
Non-for-profit Salary Packaging (up to the value of $15,899 per annum tax free) and Meal and Entertainment Packaging (up to the value of $2650 per annum tax free) (Part time and Full-time employees)
