Mackay Regional Botanic Gardens has two exciting opportunities for dedicated Parks Maintenance Officers to help nurture one of Australia's most breathtaking botanic gardens.
Positions Available:
- 1 x Permanent Full-Time
- 1 x Temporary Full-Time (Leave coverage until July 2026)

What You will Do:
- Care for a diverse range of plant species, using your expertise to ensure they thrive through maintenance, pruning, and pest control.
- Bring gardens to life by contributing to inspiring landscaping projects that elevate their beauty.
- Work alongside skilled horticulturalists, gardeners, and volunteers to uphold the gardens' exceptional standards.
What We're Looking For:
- Proven experience in horticulture, gardening, or landscaping and solid knowledge of horticultural principles.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills to connect with team members and visitors.
- A genuine passion for botanic gardens and plant conservation.
- The physical stamina to thrive in hands-on garden maintenance tasks.

In addition to the above, we also offer the following benefits:
- x1 permanent full-time position and x1 temporary fulltime position until July 2026
- Base annual salary from $57,018 - $59,319 + allowances as applicable (contingent on your experience and qualifications)
- Choice of 4 or 5 weeks' annual leave with 17.5% leave loading.
