The Administrative Review Tribunal (ART) is currently seeking applications for Senior Data and Reporting Officers, to join the Data Management branch in an ongoing capacity.

These Hybrid positions can be located in Adelaide, Brisbane, Canberra, Hobart, Melbourne, Sydney, Perth or Darwin.

Remuneration: The annual salary range for the position is APS6 $94,563 - $106,394 p.a., plus a generous employer superannuation contribution of 15.4%.

About the opportunity:

As the Senior Data and Reporting Officer, you’ll be at the heart of the ART’s reporting, performance measurement, and insights function.

In this dynamic role, you’ll leverage your deep understanding of ART's operations and apply your analytical and strategic problem-solving skills to deliver high-quality statistical reports and data-driven insights.

You will work independently, with minimal supervision, to create a sustainable reporting system that meets the ever-evolving data needs of the Tribunal. Your work will involve acquiring, analysing, and interpreting data, as well as documenting important definitions, processes, and procedures; all while using the latest data analytics tools and techniques.

Some of the key responsibilities include:

  • Design and prepare statistical reports and insights to support both strategic and operational activities.
  • Utilise advanced data analysis skills to uncover trends and performance metrics.
  • Work collaboratively with key stakeholders to understand and fulfill data and reporting needs.
  • Lead the development of a sustainable and efficient reporting function for the Tribunal.

About the team:

The Data and Reporting team is at the forefront of transforming operational and corporate data into powerful, integrated insights that drive performance across the organization.

Currently working with the Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services for report development using Visual Studio, the team is also spearheading the transition to the ART’s cutting-edge Azure cloud data platform as part of the exciting Corporate Data Warehouse Project.

In this role, you’ll play a key part in maintaining and enhancing the current reporting platform while contributing to the development of ART’s future data capabilities. These new capabilities will eventually shape the team’s core reporting tools, platform, and data warehouse, ensuring that the team has everything it needs for ongoing success post-project.

About you:

We’re looking for candidates with hands-on experience developing SQL-based reporting solutions from multiple data sources, utilising modern report development tools.

We seek data and reporting professionals with diverse expertise who are ready to enhance our team's products and capabilities, driving innovation and delivering impactful insights.

Desirable:

  • Tertiary qualifications in computer science, information technology, data science or other relevant qualifications
  • In-depth knowledge of case management workflow and systems (or the ability to acquire)

The Administrative Appeals Tribunal (AAT) conducts independent merits review of administrative decisions made under Commonwealth laws. We review decisions made by Australian Government ministers, departments and agencies and, in limited circumstances, decisions made by state government and non-government bodies. We also review decisions made under Norfolk Island laws.

The AAT was established by the Administrative Appeals Tribunal Act 1975 and commenced operations on 1 July 1976.

On 1 July 2015 the Migration Review Tribunal, Refugee Review Tribunal and Social Security Appeals Tribunal were merged with the AAT.
