About the Opportunity

We currently have an exciting opportunity to join the Aboriginal Family Birthing Program team as a Registered Midwife, where you will be responsible for:

  • Assess individual patient/client needs, plan, implement and/or coordinate appropriate service delivery from a range of accepted options including other disciplines or agencies.
  • Plan or coordinate services with other disciplines or agencies in providing individual health care needs.
  • Provide direct person-centred midwifery care to patients/clients on a shift-by-shift basis.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and who holds, or who is eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate. OR
  • Registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse/Midwife with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and who holds, or who is eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate. OR
  • Registered or eligible for registration as a Midwife with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and who holds, or who is eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate.
  • Provide effective communication skills including, problem solving, conflict resolution, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to be creative, innovative and flexible when approaching issues within a healthcare setting whilst having the ability to work within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Ability to prioritise workload and meet set timelines.
