About the role:

An exciting opportunity is now available for a male Co-ordinator to support the leadership and delivery of a range of programs run by the Men's Health & Wellbeing team at Men's Outreach Services Aboriginal Corporation (MOSAC). The position is based at our Hamersley Street site in Broome, and regular day trips as well as occasional overnight travel will be required. A fixed term contract is available for 12 months, with possibility of extension.

You will be required to:

Co-ordinate the day-to-day activity of the Men's Health & Wellbeing team and provide mentoring and support to ensure optimal service delivery, under the supervision of the Team Leader

Develop and deliver the Men's Health & Wellbeing programs at MOSAC under the supervision of the Team Leader, and ensure they meet clinical quality and compliance standards

Provide and support effective case management of clients as required across all Men's Health & Wellbeing programs, including referring clients to appropriate services through identification of risk and need

Collect and record data to assist in the evaluation and reporting obligations for Men's Health & Wellbeing programs, under the guidance of the Team Leader

Contribute to the development of policies and procedures for the programs and continuous improvement in service delivery

Maintain good records of client attendance, involvement, and progress in the programs, using MOSAC client management systems

Liaise with MOSAC Cultural Reference Group and other cultural advisors, to ensure that cultural protocols are followed, and that team practice is culturally secure in the Kimberley Indigenous context

Ensure any actions or solutions provided are in line with trauma informed care and practice principles, and communicated in an appropriate manner

Work with the Team Leader to identify and mitigate any clinical risks to clients accessing the range of services at Men's Health & Wellbeing

Attend and participate in team de-briefs, staff meetings, professional supervision and training as may be required

Qualifications and / or training:

Qualifications in the fields of health, wellbeing, community services or counselling

Extensive previous experience working in this field

Ability to obtain a Department of Justice prison clearance

Proficiency in the use of MS Word, Excel, Outlook and ability to use client management systems

Current Western Australian 'C' Class drivers' licence

Selection Criteria:

Extensive knowledge and previous experience working in one or more of the following areas: men's health and wellbeing, individual or family counselling, mental health or community services

Leadership skills including the ability to communicate effectively with staff and clients, and provide support, mentoring and guidance to the team

Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal society and culture in the Kimberley and the ability to apply cultural knowledge and sensitivities in operational settings

Skills and capacity to engage with government and non-government stakeholders relevant to the programs

Ability to use MS Word, Excel, Outlook and client databases, to maintain good records and collect data to assist in the evaluation and reporting process

Requirements and relevant information:

Overnight travel is a requirement of this role

$110,000 per annum (pro rata), 5 weeks annual leave with 17.5% leave loading, SGC superannuation, Not For Profit generous salary packaging, anniversary payment after 12 months of employment, additional 3 days leave at Christmas and 2 days Mental Health leave, option for 9-day fortnight, access to Employee Assistance Program (EAP) and study opportunities.
