- Clerk Grade 11/12 with salary ranging from $145,378 to $ 168,130 + super and annual leave loading

About the role
The Manager, Design leads projects and colleagues to collaboratively progress system and service design, project delivery and improvement in tight timeframes. The role has a key leadership function in developing team and colleagues' design capabilities and supporting the communication of the team's work with stakeholders and delivery partners across government.
1x Ongoing Full-Time position is targeted to the employment of an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person and is authorised by the Department's EEO Management Plan in accordance with Part 9A of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977. About you
As the ideal candidate you will have the below skills and experience:
- Substantial experience in applying human-centred design methodologies and practice - including user research, qualitative synthesis, prototyping and facilitation - in a complex service environment, and the ability to coach others to develop these skills
- Significant experience in making design processes work effectively (in a government or similarly complex system environment), including influencing working practices, culture and decision-making
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with experience supporting multidisciplinary teams to align design and delivery streams
- A track record of contributing directly to service design projects while also supporting performance monitoring and reporting through milestones, metrics or delivery frameworks
- Experience working in agile, cross-functional environments and contributing to strategic design direction across programs of work
- Degree qualification in a related field, or equivalent experience in service design
- Interest or background in Education, with a focus on early childhood education and care
Key knowledge and experience
- Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Department's Aboriginal Education Policy and upholding the Department's Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people
- Substantial experience of applying human centred design methodologies and practice (including user research, prototyping and facilitation) in a complex service environment and the ability to coach others to develop these skills are necessary
- Have significant experience of making design processes work effectively in a complex government environment, influencing working practices and culture to support this
Essential requirements of the role
- Degree qualification in related field or equivalent service design experience
- A valid Working With Children Check
- Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the value of public education
