About us:
Based in Rockhampton, the Cardiology Service adopts a multidisciplinary model in delivering an integrated specialist care across the care continuum. Our Cardiac team provides a range of diagnostic and procedural services for patients with suspected or established cardiac conditions, including Echocardiography, Stress Imaging, Cardiac Computed Tomography, Heart Failure Services, Cardiac Rehabilitation Services, and Chest Pain Assessment Services.
About the role:
As a Cardiology Registrar / Principal House Officer (PHO), you are expected to assist the Clinical Director and Senior Medical Staffs in ensuring the Cardiology services provided by the Central Queensland Hospital and Health Service, Rockhampton Hospital are of the highest standard and delivered in an efficient and effective manner given available resources. You will work in the Coronary Care Unit, Cardiology Ward, Cardiac Investigation Unit, and Outpatient Clinics and will be expected to contribute to the weekend roster.
About you:
- Current General Registration with AHPRA is mandatory.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Life Support (ALS) certification is required.
- Experience and qualifications in Cardiology are well regarded.
- Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) is well regarded.
- MBBS or equivalent to enable registration as a Medical Practitioner with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) is mandatory.
- A minimum of two years practice within the Australian healthcare system is preferred.

Salary information:
Total remuneration value of up to $172,382 p.a. is comprised of:
- A salary rate between $129,583 - $142,727 p.a. (L4 – L7)
- A salary rate between $129,583 - $150,240 p.a. (L4 – L9)
- 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
- 17.5% leave loading
