About us:

Gladstone Hospital is an 83-bed hospital and offers a range of general and specialist inpatient and outpatient services including emergency, general medicine and surgery, basic orthopaedic, clinical investigation, obstetrics, maternity, gynaecology, high dependency and coronary care, palliative care, medical imaging, pathology and paediatrics.

Additional services include Mental Health, Alcohol and Other Drugs Service, oral health, physiotherapy, dietetics, speech pathology and outreach/community-based facilities.

About the role:

Assist the Director, Staff Specialists and Senior Medical Staff in ensuring the General Medicine services provided by the Central Queensland Hospital and Health Service, Gladstone Hospital are of the highest standard and delivered in an efficient and effective manner given available resources.

About you:
  • Evidence of successful completion of IELTS or equivalent English Language test results within the last year.
  • Evidence of successful completion AMC MCQ (part 1) examination.
  • Evidence of recency of clinical practice, supported by current references.
  • Current Advanced Life Support Qualification.
  • If qualifications were obtained outside Australia, the candidate must be eligible for registration with AHPRA with the appropriate supervision level and provide the following:
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is require
  • Current AHPRA registration and a minimum of two years practice within the Australian healthcare system is well regarded.
  • MBBS or equivalent to enable registration as a Medical Practitioner with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) at Level 3 supervision.

Salary information:

Total remuneration value of up to $160,859 p.a. is comprised of:

  • A salary rate between $125,808 - $138,571 p.a. (L4-L7)
  • 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
  • 17.5% leave loading

Vaccine Preventable Diseases (VPD) requirements:
