Diploma qualification is favourable, however if you are Certificate III qualified, please also apply!

The right candidate will be responsible for, in consultation with the Educational Leader and Management for the preparation, implementation and evaluation of a developmentally appropriate program for individual children or groups, while ensuring that:

· There is a commitment to the need for each child to be given individual attention and comfort, with a high focus on the circle of security

· Educators are supported in the provision of quality childcare, that meets the needs of individual and groups of children and supports their learning in accordance with the Early Years Learning Framework

· The philosophy, policies and procedures of the Centre are upheld, and implemented

· The children and families of the Centre are liaised with, and encouraged to contribute to the quality and success of the centre

· General supervision is provided to allocated educators within the Centre, with regular mentoring to support growth of the team

The right candidate should have a sound understanding of:

The Centre’s philosophy, policies, and procedures

Quality early education, how Cuddly Bear is working to meet the needs of individual children and how play is an important part of learning

Supporting children’s learning in accordance with the Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework, as well as the National Quality Standards

Sound knowledge of the child safety standards and how these impact your role as an educator

Working as part of a professional team, providing a quality program within a childcare environment in a warm, safe, and stimulating manner, displaying a genuine desire for the welfare of children 0 – 6 years of age

Being able to cope effectively in busy environments and in an emergency situation

Demonstrating the ability to lead a small team of up to 5 staff and willingness to accept supervision and seek direction

Effective time management skills

Qualifications

Diploma in Children’s Services or higher as recognized by licensing authorities

Cert III in children’s services

Current First Aid Qualifications – including Asthma and Anaphylaxis

Mandatory reporting certificate

Food safety handling certificate

SunSmart certificate

Current Working with Children’s Check
