The Company
This company are an award winning Melbourne-based home builder known for delivering high-quality, custom-designed homes. They offer a wide range of home-building services, including custom-built single and double-storey homes, luxury residences, Knock Down rebuild projects and Townhouses.
The role would see you manage their South East / East Based construction team consisting of 3 site supervisors.
Responsibilities:
- Project Oversight: Manage all aspects of residential construction projects from pre-construction to final handover, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to required quality standards.
- Team Management: Lead and supervise on-site construction teams, subcontractors, and tradespeople, ensuring safety, efficiency, and productivity.
- Scheduling: Develop and maintain project schedules, coordinating timelines, milestones, and critical path activities to ensure timely completion.
- Quality Assurance: Enforce quality control standards throughout all phases of the project. Conduct regular inspections and resolve any defects or issues.
- Compliance and Safety: Ensure all construction activities comply with relevant health and safety regulations, building codes, and legal requirements.
- Procurement: Coordinate ordering, delivery, and inventory of materials and equipment, ensuring they meet project specs and timelines.
- Problem Solving: Proactively identify and address issues or delays, offering practical and cost-effective solutions to maintain progress.
- Documentation: Maintain thorough project documentation
What we are looking for:
- Experience as a construction manager within a home builder
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage on-site crews, subcontractors, and suppliers
- Excellent knowledge of local building codes, regulations, and safety standards
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, plans, and technical documents
- Exceptional time management and organizational skills
- Solid budgeting and cost control experience
- Effective communication skills for coordinating with clients, trades, and internal teams
- Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive, solution-driven mindset
- Keen eye for detail to ensure high-quality workmanship
- Comfortable using construction management software and digital tools
- Reliable, accountable, and committed to delivering projects on time and within scope
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel between sites as needed
