Our client, a global tech leader, is seeking a Statutory & Tax Controller to join their Sydney-based team. This role is perfect for someone who thrives on navigating complex tax legislation, managing audits, and ensuring compliance with both US GAAP and local regulations.

What you’ll be doing:

Preparing and lodging tax returns, including CbCR (Country-by-Country Reporting) and Hybrid Mismatch compliance.

Managing legal entity P&L and balance sheet integrity.

Overseeing statutory records, financial statements, and tax filings.

Leading month-end, half-year, and year-end closing processes.

Staying up to date with the latest tax legislation and ensuring compliance with US GAAP, IFRS, and local regulations.

Collaborating with internal teams and external advisors to streamline and automate processes.

Managing audits, government reporting obligations, and liaising with auditors.

What we’re looking for:

CA/CPA qualified with 7–10 years of relevant experience.

Strong technical accounting skills, including tax-effective accounting under US GAAP and Local GAAP.

Proven experience preparing and lodging tax returns, with a solid understanding of CbCR reporting, Hybrid Mismatch, and other key compliance areas.

Familiarity with tax systems and tools (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar).

A background in large corporations (multinational or listed companies preferred).

Big Four audit experience is a bonus.

Excellent communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with auditors and stakeholders.

Proactive, detail-oriented, and comfortable working autonomously in a fast-paced environment.
