About the Role

RUC Indonesia (part of the Redpath Australia Group) are seeking 4 very experienced Jumbo Operators to join our operations at Freeport in Papua, Indonesia. This position is an expatriate position in Indonesia.

The primary focus for the position will be to operate DD420 drill rigs in a large scale underground operation while continuously mentoring and upskilling National Trainees and Offsiders.

Key Responsibilities

· Mentor and upskill national drill operators with:

o Safe drilling practices and adherence to site SOPs;

o Install ground support to design standard with a high degree of quality;

o Bore development rounds as per supplied worksheet design;

o Conduct rehab an other miscellaneous tasks as required under the direction of the Shift Supervisor;

o Basic rig management and maintenance;

o Efficient consumables management including ground support and drill cons;

o Trouble shooting issues and technical drilling;

· Review relevant practices and procedures to identify areas of improvement; and

· Assist Mine Superintendents and Engineering Team with improvement projects related to jumbo operation and the development cycle.

Qualification and Skill Required:

· Minimum 10 years’ underground mining experience included 5 years’ experience as Jumbo Operator. Highly advantageous for experience on Sandvik DD420.

· Ability and willingness to transfer/mentor their skills & knowledge to local personnel.

· A valid passport with validity 20 months before expiration date.

· A valid National Police Clearance (within 6 months)
