About the role

Infield Earthmoving Repairs PTY LTD' is seeking a talented Heavy Diesel Mechanic to join our team in Melbourne, VIC on a full-time basis. In this critical role, you will be responsible for providing expert maintenance and repair services for a diverse range of heavy machinery and equipment used in the construction sectors.

What you'll be doing

Diagnose, troubleshoot and repair mechanical issues with heavy diesel earthmoving equipment, transmissions, hydraulic systems, and other components

Perform scheduled and preventative maintenance on a variety of heavy equipment.

Respond to emergency service calls and provide on-site repairs as needed

Maintain detailed records of all work performed and parts used

Collaborate with the wider team to ensure optimal equipment performance and uptime

Adhere to all safety protocols and contribute to a positive, proactive safety culture

What we're looking for

Formal qualifications in Heavy Diesel Mechanics or a related field

Minimum 2 years' hands-on experience as a Heavy Diesel Mechanic, preferably within the mining or resources sector

Strong CAT troubleshooting and problem-solving skills to diagnose and repair complex mechanical issues

Proficient in the use of diagnostic equipment and tools

Excellent communication skills to liaise with operators and other stakeholders

Commitment to maintaining a safe and compliant work environment

A valid driver's licence and willingness to work on-site as required
