The Role

We are seeking a reliable and experienced Forklift Driver to join our busy distribution team at our Edinburgh site. This full-time position is available Monday to Friday with an immediate start & potential for overtime.

You will play a key role in assembling and loading customer orders onto trailers. The successful candidate will be a motivated team player with a strong work ethic, a commitment to safety, and the ability to handle long and awkward timber lengths, some extending over 15 metres.

Key Responsibilities

Safely load and stack long lengths of timber onto trailers and pallets

Maintain safe stacking techniques for secure transport and storage

Plan loads in advance and work with team members to meet daily targets

Operate front-loader and side-loader forklifts

Assist in general yard duties as required

Conduct daily pre-start checks and basic maintenance on machinery

What We’re Looking For

Current forklift licence (essential)

Experience handling long, uneven, or awkward loads

Previous experience in the timber or building industry (advantageous)

Strong communication skills and the ability to work both independently and in a team

Good hand-eye coordination, speed, and precision

Physically fit and capable of manual handling tasks

Ability to read and interpret picking sheets or customer order forms
