You will be working within the Brisbane City Council, Asphalt and Aggregates branch. As part of the team, you will be working and operating the Fixed Crushing Plant at the Mt Coot-tha Quarry location.

About your new role

The variety of this role will expand across the following labouring tasks.

• Previous experience in the quarrying/mining industry with an emphasis/understanding of modern safety practices under the mines legislation
• Ability to work in a respectful /dedicated team environment to achieve production and safety objectives.
• Must have good communication skills
• Flexible to multi-skill/ further expand their qualifications to suit our needs and opportunities
• Must be prepared to learn fixed and mobile crusher plant control room tasks to maximise production and quality of aggregates.
• The ability to collect data, to learn and follow established protocols
• Experience and/or physical ability to carry out routine maintenance of quarry processing equipment - greasing, hosing, inspections, changing screen cloths etc
• The ability to complete other general labouring tasks and machine operating around the Quarry when required.

What you will need to exceed

A strong sense of teamwork a commitment to safety and ensuring all work is conducted according to safety procedures and guidelines.

• Experience in a Quarry processing environment including the operations of a Fixed/Mobile Crushing Machines is essential
• Current C Class drivers licence required
• Current HR License desirable
• Machine Tickets - Excavator or Front end loader. Experience on machines also required.
• Work safety in the Construction Industry (White Card)
• Need to be able to work 5 days a week + overtime
