About the role

This is a full-time role based in Dubbo NSW, to service Coonabarabran, Narrabri & surrounds working for Healthy Communities Foundation Australia Limited. As a Community Mental Health and Wellness / Suicide Prevention Nurse, you will play a crucial part in supporting the mental health and wellbeing of the local community.

What you'll be doing

Providing nursing care and case management for individuals experiencing a personal crisis or risk of suicide

Delivering mental health and suicide prevention promotion, education and early intervention activities in the local community

Collaborating with other healthcare professionals, social services and community organisations to coordinate holistic support for clients

Conducting comprehensive mental health and suicide intervention assessments and developing tailored care plans

Providing crisis intervention and brief therapy for individuals in distress

Monitoring client progress and adjusting care plans as needed

Maintaining accurate clinical records and contributing to program evaluation

What we're looking for

Registration as a Registered Nurse (RN) or Enrolled Nurse (EN) with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia

Relevant experience in mental health nursing, community health or suicide prevention

Strong clinical assessment and case management skills

Demonstrated ability to provide trauma-informed, person-centered care

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Commitment to working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team

Understanding of mental health policies, legislation and best practice guidelines

Must be willing to travel regularly for work including potentially overnight travel
