The continued growth of the business has led the board to determine that a senior level Financial Controller is required to maintain and streamline accuracy and integrity of the company's entire financial, accounting, corporate compliance and statutory functions.

This pivotal role acts as the conduit of financial information and risk assessment to the board, the executive team and divisional heads.

The Financial Controller will be supported by the in situ finance and administration team: including management accountants, transaction level clerks, payroll and support staff.

At the level of Financial Controller, it will be expected that a deep understanding of operational matters will be developed. Consequently, as the most senior finance and accounting person, input to the divisional heads will be required to ensure project costs and forecasts are aligned to project budgets.

In summary form, the Financial Controller will have responsibility for:

Management of the accounting and administration team

Corporate budget preparation and monitoring

Cash flow management

Accuracy and timeliness of financial reports and analysis

Overseeing of payroll accuracy

Application of accounting standards

Quarterly and monthly tax reporting obligations

Management of risk cover policies

Preparation of the capital acquisition programme

Liaison with external corporate tax advisers

Statutory compliance

Liaison with external IT service providers

It is expected the appointee will have CA or CPA qualifications and a minimum ten years of experience in finance and accounting in construction, manufacturing or the resource sector.

Alternatively, professional practice experience in a national or Big 4 accounting and advisory firm in either audit or business services will provide a strong technical background as Financial Controller.
