We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced and skilled registered nurse to join BRHS Perioperative team in a well-supported leadership role. Contract: This is an ongoing position with total 1.2 EFT available. 0.4 EFT commencing asap and 0.8 EFT commencing on 1.06.2025. This position can also be suited to two nurses commencing at 0.2 EFT asap and increasing EFT to 0.6 on 1.06.2025 or a nurse interested in a Full-Time 1.0 EFT position commencing at 0.4 asap and increasing to 1.0 EFT on 1.06.2025
The role:
In this role you will support the Nurse Unit Manager through dynamic leadership and management of a high functioning perioperative team of approximately 40 nursing and technician staff. As a senior member of the department, you will work collaboratively with the Perioperative leadership team and other BRHS Managers to achieve excellence in patient care and safety, oversee staff wellbeing, and manage resource utilisation to achieve BRHS elective surgery performance targets.

Key requirements:
- Current AHPRA registration as Registered Nurse with minimum 3 years recent experience in Perioperative Nursing with a Post graduate certificate
- Proficiency and commitment to complying with current standards of practice and surgical conscience in all aspects of the perioperative work environment.
- Proven leadership skills with experience supervising and guiding all levels of staff including students.
- Ability to respond appropriately in pressure situations and escalate care and circumstances appropriately
