Currently, there are around 4.3 million Australians with a disability. The National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) implements the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), which is one of the biggest social reforms in the country since Medicare. As an Agency, we support more than 600,000 participants with a significant and permanent disability, and the families and carers of those living with disability. For many Australians, this will be the first time they receive the disability support they need. Are you looking for a challenging and rewarding career opportunity where you can utilise your advanced strategic thinking, communication and engagement expertise? The Markets Delivery Branch is seeking an EL2 Director Projects professional with a proven track record in delivering successful outcomes, to join the NDIA, as part of the Markets Division within the Partners Providers Home and Living Group.

We are seeking an experienced professional who can bring their flexible and transferable skills to the wide-ranging NDIS reform and market initiatives being delivered across the Markets Division. You will have superior communications skills with a proven ability to develop and manage relationships with a broad range of stakeholders, driving positive outcomes to complex problems. You will be a collaborator who works well within a team, and you will have a strong motivation to improve the NDIS for participants and providers.

The Division brings together critical elements in managing NDIS provider markets – including establishing a whole of government framework for NDIS provider market stewardship, trialling new and innovative market interventions, and establishing the price limits and pricing arrangements for NDIS supports.

As an EL2 Director Projects, you will be leading the development of market related engagement and project work that requires high-level strategic thinking, leadership and problem-solving skills. Your highly developed stakeholder and relationship management skills and ability to drive positive outcomes to complex problems, will be highly regarded.

Responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:

  • Leading a team to deliver complex or sensitive projects and work program outcomes that have strategic or operational significance to the NDIA and the Markets Delivery program of work.
  • Leading communications and engagement projects and activities, governance groups and forums for the Markets Delivery Branch and Markets Division were relevant.
  • Building and maintaining productive and collaborative relationships with stakeholders within and outside the NDIA.
  • Leading a team to deliver policy, project and/or corporate documents to a high standard.
  • Leading the design and implementation of governance and authorising arrangements for related projects in the Markets Delivery Branch.
  • Contributing to branch leadership, building a positive and high performing team culture, and supporting the professional development of your team.

Our ideal candidate will have significant experience in leading teams within the public sector to deliver policy, projects, programs, or market stewardship activities. You will have excellent analytical and problem-solving skills and the ability to provide strategic advice and drive strategic change. You will have outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to communicate with influence, and develop and maintain networks with a wide variety of stakeholders. You will bring your sound judgment, decision-making skills and governance skills to drive progress on the important initiatives delivered by the Markets Delivery Branch and Markets Division.

While this role is ideally performed from ACT - Deakin, NSW - Surry Hills, NSW - Parramatta, QLD - Brisbane, QLD - Robina, VIC - Geelong, VIC - Richmond, SA - Adelaide, remote working arrangements may be considered. We intend to fill this role in an ongoing capacity, however non-ongoing roles up to 12 months with the possibility of extension up to 2 years may be offered.

Successful candidates will be required to undergo a pre-employment National Police History check, Worker Screening check and/or Working with Children Check (where required) and provide evidence of Australian Citizenship.
