About the role

As a Senior Manager – Corporate Affairs, you will lead a team of experts across a wide-ranging portfolio of media, corporate and investment communication and social impact to shape ART’s identity with our members, stakeholders and the wider community whilst protecting and enhancing ART’s reputation with transparent, engaging, and proactive strategies on a local, state, national, and global level.

Media and Public Relations

  • Lead media and communications, including events and press conferences, and provide guidance for communication plans.
  • Identify strategic media and awareness opportunities to promote ART and manage reputation.
  • Support the Public Policy and Sector Relations team with organising media interviews, managing contentious issues, and developing media briefs and speaking notes to ensure the reputation of ART is maintained.
  • In collaboration with the Executive General Manager, act as the media and corporate affairs communications adviser to the Board, CEO and Executive Committee.

Corporate and Investment Communications

  • Partner with the Executive Commitee and senior leaders to develop thought leadership topics and provide reputational support and advice.
  • Oversee external communication activities to ensure alignment with ART's Strategy.

Crisis and Incident Management

  • Develop and manage ART’s crisis communication plan and rapid response protocols.
  • Monitor media coverage to identify and address potential issues, protecting ART’s reputation.

This role is available as a permanent opportunity.

About you

It goes without saying you'll be a great communicator with top notch interpersonal skills. We'll also expect you to pick up problems and come up with quick, creative ways to solve them. It's quite likely you tick some of the following boxes too:

  • Exceptional crisis communication experience, with the ability to sensitively manage confidential issues and multiple stakeholders in a timely manner.
  • Comprehensive understanding of supporting regulations and technologies and their impact.
  • Knowledge of, or the ability to rapidly acquire knowledge and understanding of the financial services and/or superannuation industry, including legislation, regulations and market trends.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading and managing teams in a commercial environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and guide strategy and manage high quality execution.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders across an organisation.
