Location: Perth Zoo, Western Australia

The Manager Facilities and Environment leads and provides direction to the Facilities and Environment team.

The Facilities and Environment team are responsible for the management of the grounds, botanic estate, facilities, and infrastructure across the three Perth Zoo sites, South Perth, Byford, and Bakers Hill. This includes oversight of all major service contracts, including waster, cleaning, pest control, and utilities, managing and servicing fleet and equipment, and the sourcing, storage and delivery of Zoo supplies including fodder.

The role also assists in the planning, delivery, and coordination of minor capital works activities and requires building and maintaining productive relationships with key stakeholders and contributing to the Zoo’s overall effectiveness as a commercial conservation organisation.

Selection Criteria

  1. Demonstrated experience in the management and delivery of major maintenance and minor capital works projects, including contract documentation and procurement, contract management, and quality control.
  2. Demonstrated experience operating in a 7-day-a-week operational environment and/or public facility.
  3. Experience in the effective management of a diverse team; strong human and financial resource management.
  4. Proven ability to ensure compliance with safety legislative requirements, and procurement standards. Experience in risk management and developing safety protocols.
