We are looking for a motivated and eager individual to join our growing team as a Trainee Cable & Pipe Locator. As a trainee, you will receive hands-on training and valuable experience in locating underground cables and pipes, alongside our skilled team of DBYD-certified Cable & Pipe Locators and Hydro Excavation Operators.

About the Role:
As a Trainee Cable & Pipe Locator, you will be learning essential skills that play a crucial part in our daily operations. Working closely with experienced professionals, you’ll help deliver accurate and reliable locating services while ensuring the safety of our clients and team members. Key Responsibilities:

Assist in the location of underground cables and pipes using advanced technology and equipment

Learn to read and interpret site plans and utility maps

Travel and work across the Wide Bay region, Rockhampton, Emerald, and surrounding areas, with occasional overnight stays

Follow safety protocols to maintain a secure working environment

Support experienced locators in marking and mapping underground utilities

Assist in completing detailed reports on locates for client delivery

Participate in site surveys and support the team with necessary documentation.

Requirements:

Strong interest in working outdoors and developing technical expertise

Excellent attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions

Physically fit, as the role may require walking long distances and working in various weather conditions

Good communication skills for effective team collaboration

A valid driver’s license

No prior experience is necessary – full training will be provided

A willingness to learn and develop within the industry
